So it's that time of year again! Yup, we're moving on to the next year! I have to say 2013 was good (and bad) in so many ways but overall I had a great year! I started this blog, turned 21 and learned so much about about myself and the person I want to be. I'm looking forward to all the fun in the next year...so see you in 2014!
Hello all! You may have seen it on twitter and wondered what I was hinting at! Well, today you find out! Ipti from Stitched the Blog: Let's Play Dress Up (who can be found on twitter @STITCHEDmyBlog) and I did a Blogger Exchange! Today I'll be blogging over on her blog so be sure to check that out! We decided to do print on print and I have to say I love her look! It mixes girly-ness with a bit of edge but before I give away too much, here's what Ipti had to say:
Hi Everyone!
In last week sometime Teeks aka @byTeeks and I decided that we wanted to do a little blogger exchange. After many suggestions of what we think is on trend at the moment, we settled for PRINT ON PRINT. Teeks was a little weary of it but soon showed her true fashionista qualities when she agreed! (Read more about her P.o.P drama here. )
Prints has always fascinated me in the oddest ways. I remember love mixing the most unlikely combinations together. These combinations included stripe & polka dot, aztec with touches of floral as well as Paisley with ahint of animal print.
I love the fact that Teeks reunited Mr Aztec and Miss Stripe together after many seasons of separation! I love how she decided to keep the colors in the same color scheme and the textures are more or less the same as well. The nautical stripe tones the playful tribal aztec down a little. She balances her outfit by having simple hair and make up as well as candy cane nails to 'salute' the festive season(as she puts it). To end the print-ful outfit off she pairs it with a pretty aztec pump to give her outfit just the right amount of color here and there.
My outfit on the other hand, incorporates two seemingly unlikely prints: Check and Balmain. I gave it more edge by wearing a pair of Caterpillar boots, scarlet flame red lips from Revlon and aviator sunglasses from Birlin eye wear.
Have a look at what I TRIED to put together:
Thanks for reading and don't forget to subscribe to our blogs to keep you in touch with the trending world.

There's nothing better than natural looking makeup to me! We all love to glam it up every now and then but I have to say there's nothing I appreciate more than a the subtlety of a fresh looking face. That being said I'm always working on my 'natural face' and this is what is I got the last time I gave it a go.
Let me know what you think!

What is with the weather in Durban recently? One minute it's sunny the next minute it's hotter than Hades and sometimes it's even sunny while it rains! I am not impressed, to say the least. I did manage to snap some outfit pics recently though, very quickly before a coffee date with a friend I haven't caught up with in a while. I wore a skirt, the omnipresent striped tee and a fun necklace to complete the look. This is a typical look for me and to play it up a bit I added a bold lip using Mac Dark Side. I love the colour so much and I will probably be reaching for every now and then this summer!
This product has been setting the beauty world abuzz. I've noticed many beauty bloggers either love it or hate it! Most seem to adore it! I first noticed the Baby Lips when British beauty bloggers and youtubers were waxing lyrical about them and I couldn't wait to give them a try! I picked up the Maybelline Baby Lips in Hydrate but there's an entire range including Peach, Grape and Intense, some of these being lightly stained versions. I decided on the Hydrate because what's better than a product that promises baby soft lips and which hydrates at the same time? I really enjoy the product and it fits right in with the rest of my makeup. It gives a slight dewy look to the lip and I've found that it lasts (and lasts)! Usually I'm not a fan of lip balms that are flavoured because I get the urge to reapply every few minutes for the flavour but with the Baby Lips the flavour is just light enough that I can resist! The price is great, right in there with other lip balms so you're not paying extra for the fact that it's by Maybelline!
Have you given the Maybelline Baby Lips a try?

It's been a while but hey, I'm alive and well! I haven't been feeling quite the thing energy wise and couple that with a busy week and that means...the blogging gets put on the back burner (oops!) I have a few posts I need to get working on and I'm sure to get to it soon. I just thought I'd share a snippet of an outfit I wore to supper yesterday. I would have taken more pictures but it started raining in ernest when we went out to take them so I only got a few decent ones. I think monochrome may be becoming my thing (ok, the outfit has a few splashes of colour here and there)! I love how simple and chic it can look. And speaking of chic, aren't my new shoes great? I am so in love with them! You will see me in them quite often this summer and I will be sharing more about them soon. They instantly give me height and took my simple outfit to a dressier level.

This weekend my family and I went away inland to my gran's place. I got to spend time with my cousins and laugh at the silly things that happen when family gets together. There was plenty of good food, my sister's friends even stopped by and at the end of it all I'm exhausted (but only in a good way). On the way there I took some snaps (I couldn't resist, especially when my sister took the scenic route up and we were stuck briefly in traffic) together with some more pics as the weekend unfolded. Have a look see:

On a sidenote, I will be putting up beauty reviews and outfit posts soon. Lately I've been in a bit of a style rut and I'm in the process of picking up some new odds and ends (my solution to any time I'm uninspired by the clothes in my wardrobe). I've also been busy busy and am trying to fall into a routine as time goes. Hope everyone is feeling very festive a we go into the season to be jolly!
