I am so excited to do my first full outfit post on the blog! I don't know how soon more will be forthcoming but I thought I'd share this outfit with you. This is an outfit which is typical of me. I pretty much live in skirts be they short or long or midi and this blog is called 'The Girl In The Striped Tee' so you all know I'm pretty much all about those too! I am obsessed with every bit of clothing I have on in this post. I picked up the necklace on sale at Sass Diva a while ago and in fact if you stop by regularly you would have seen it in one of my 'New In' posts. I haven't really worn it much because I had difficulty showing it off to full advantage given the collared tops I prefer in winter. The skirt is actually a mullet skirt I bought from Mr Price that I had altered because I just couldn't deal with the mullet-ness of it all. The cap toe pumps from Woolies are honestly the comfiest things to walk around in and the canvas material is what I like to think of as a fun Woolies twist to a classic, a pair of pumps. The fringe bag is still a fave as you can see and I finished the look off with my Swatch watch.
...for the vac. I've never learnt so much about life and law than I did this week. Pushed some paper, proposed some (flawed) arguments. Oh...and took some elevator snaps (because it was a reflective surface and I couldn't resist).
DID THIS:
Researched and researched and researched then wrote and wrote and (yup) wrote! Being an attorney is a pretty labour intensive occupation but it more than makes out for it with it's novelties. Running around town in heels, tea breaks and biscotti and the beautiful ocean view from the office building were just some of my favourites this week.
SAW THAT:
My own reflection! These were my favourite outfits this week! How awesome you get to see the full outfit for once? Thank goodness for elevator mirrors!
Two things about this outfit...this bag I am obsessed and these boots are suede comfort and sassiness (they come right up to my knees). The bright colour of the bag makes me want to carry it around all winter. It makes me think of Spring, sunshine and all that is right with the world. I'll probably do a post about the bag (and all the stuff I keep inside too) soon. Dresses are my thing. If I'm not in a skirt it's a dress. And this dress is so comfy and with it's slightly thicker material it's perfect for those cooler days.
I have nothing to say about this outfit except to say I love myself in it. Can I walk around in stuff like this all the time? No? Oh alright. The shoes, the pencil skirt, the bag (again). I don't think you can really tell but the heels are actually navy. I wasn't expecting that either. It's such a nice way to depart from the usual black and white the legal types usually wear without crossing the line. The blouse is sheer lace with pearl buttons. It's rare to have absolutely everything you have on be something you're in love with. That to me is winning!

...and saw many things, most of them furniture. Posed a bit, played a bit.
DID THIS:
Laughed with my sister over...something. I can't remember but our faces tell me it must have been hilars!
Snuck a choclate break to keep my energy up as we walked from shop to shop...because all that shopping is such a chore hah not!
SAW THAT:
How awesome are these? They make think of a holiday house in the Hamptons!
The equestrian thing is such a fave of mine recently. If I had a house it would be full of fun wrought iron or dark wood horse statues, monochromatic rugs and crystal vases and lamps. If this all sounds a bit gaudy you'll have to excuse my taste!
This is honestly the coolest thing I've seen in a while! This is a ginorm pic of a zebra and while I usually hate the whole African safari vibe (we are more than wild animals people...even though we love our wild animals and the fact that they're a major source of tourism) this picture was amazing! Don't know where this pic would fit in amongst the horses but hey, zebras are part of the horse family right?

This has to be my favourite Essence buy easy peasy, hands down! There's nothing that beats a lined eye whether it be a cat eye or a simple bit of liner to perk up the eyes and make you look wide awake and ready to take charge. This eye pencil is definitely long lasting, it won't smudge or budge as shown by the fact that when I made a swatch on my hand and rubbed over the lines they didn't blur a bit! I love the fact that even though the eye pencil is somewhat thick you can lighten the pressure you exert with your hand when putting it on to draw a thin line which is perfect for those days when you're not feeling so dramatic. Is there anything better than a trusty eye pencil that lasts and lasts and makes you look fabulous just the way you want?

Now I'm actually not much of an eyeshadow girl-in fact a friend of mine and I were talking about that the other day-but I am so keen to get back into being one. I guess the fact that I wear glasses might have discouraged me in that respect but no more! These are two fun shades from essence that are so pretty I enjoy just looking at them from time to time. When I first saw them in the store I was a little afraid they'd be too bright on my skin but they actually look perf! I love the idea of using the orange on it's own for a more subtle look-I say subtle because it blends in great with my skin tone-or pairing up the orange and the green for a more dramatic effect. Once again, with the affordability of this product I really have no excuse for not getting back on the eyeshadow wearing train!
